Dale in Cusco, Peru

Hi, I’m Dale (aka: Worker Bee)

I used to tell my father that there weren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done.  He would tell me that “if there were more hours in the day, you would simply work them.”  Travel abroad has become the only way that I can truly “unplug” from work, and travelling with my family is the most enjoyable part of my life.

In an earlier life, my wanderlust  began after living at the beach for a summer, spending two ski seasons in the mountains of Colorado, and backpacking in Europe with a guitar strapped to my back for a couple of months.  Since then, my life has never been the same.

Kellie’s sense of adventure, compounded with my itch to be on the move, proved to be a wonderful partnership.  While our daughters, Delaney and Riley, are somewhat apprehensive about leaving their friends for 5 months, we know that it will be a cherished, life-long memory for all of us.

I have the rest of my life to work, but only a small window of time to spend with my daughters before they move out of our home and into the world.  I hope that our journey encourages you to take that leap of faith and step off the path of “normalcy.”

John Lennon said it best: “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.”
